Titchfield Abbey and Netley Abbey are both abbey ruins full of local history just waiting to be explored. Portsmouth Historic Dockyard features Victorian ships, naval vessels and a museum to enjoy. Fort Brockhurst is a largely unaltered fort built in the 1860s to repel French invasion, with the armoury, gun ramps and parade grounds all available for viewing.

If you prefer something a little more adrenaline-filled, then Fareham and the surrounding areas have you covered. Test your skill at Teamsport Indoor Karting, featuring state-of-the-art electric karts, a spectator zone and group events. Head to Planet Ice in Gosport for a spacious modern ice rink for the whole family, with disco sessions, open skating and lessons for the little ones to help them find their ice feet! How about an indoor rock climbing adventure? Rock Up has 26 epic ascents and over 70 individual climbing challenges for all experience levels. Perhaps you’re looking for something a little different, if so why not try your hand at axe throwing? Down Range Axe Throwing caters to enthusiasts and first-timers alike, providing a thrilling day out for the family. If you’re after something a little more traditional, check out The Outdoor Sports Centre, where you can make use of the various outdoor pitches, tennis courts, the assault course, athletics track, crazy golf and much more!

Whether you like to enjoy the sun by the waterfront or you enjoy water-based sports activities, there’s plenty to enjoy in the local area. Being on the southern coast, Fareham offers multiple beautiful beaches to enjoy, such as Solent Breezes Beach, Lee-on-Solent Beach and Hill Head Beach. If you’re looking for something a little more thrilling, be sure to visit Portsmouth Watersports Centre, where you and your kids can take part in kayaking, power boating, windsurfing and sailing! Havant Leisure Centre has one of the best heated 25m (82ft) indoor pools in the area, as well as a splash pool and diving pit. Woodmill Outdoor Activities Centre is another outdoor adventure park that sits on 17 acres of land with its own sizeable private lake, where you can enjoy kayaking, rigging, trapeze, rope swinging, pond dipping and many other water-based group activities.

If you’re here with the whole family, great news! There’s plenty to keep the little ones engaged. Fun City offers an indoor soft play area for children up to 12, with a cafeteria, friendly staff on-hand and nappy changing facilities to make sure you have everything you need for a relaxing day out. Monkey Bizness Gosport is another indoor play area, featuring year-round events and activities for toddlers and older children. The Portsmouth Mystery Treasure Trail is an opportunity to work together as a family on a self-guided detective mystery around town. Hunt down clues, explore the sites and uncover the mystery!
